“River of Dolphins” Boat Ride

Your LRK experience will include an onboard marine history and biology tour to and from the island.  Little Raccoon Key is about a 10 minute boat ride from Jekyll Island, and it is a beautiful ride.  During this trip, you can see St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island, Cumberland Island, & the gorgeous Sidney Lanier Bridge.  The waters between Little Raccoon Key and Jekyll Island are teeming with wildlife, and it is common to see large pods of dolphin swimming by the island or pelicans diving into the water to catch fish.  Be sure to have your camera ready!

Onboard Marine History and Biology

While onboard, our captain and/or first mate will educate you on the local marine and biology history.  Feel free to ask questions!

Ancient Oyster Reef Lesson

We will teach you about ancient oyster reefs that are a beautiful part of the island.  These oysters are a very important part of the island’s ecosystem (and they are also very sharp), so please be wary when walking around the oysters.  We suggest that you wear boots when walking around the oyster reefs to be on the safe side!

Active Snack and Water

We will offer water and a variety of snacks for the trip.  The snack offering typically includes Nutri-Grain Bars & Nuts.
